Refund Policy
Last updated June 16, 2026
This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for purchases of Tone Caliper, made by Light Year Interactive Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). It forms part of our Terms of Service.
Try before you buy
Tone Caliper comes with a free, full-featured 14-day trial. Nothing is locked or watered down during the trial — it’s the complete app. We strongly encourage you to use the trial to make sure Tone Caliper works for you, your photos, and your computer before you purchase.
All sales are final
Because we offer a free, full-featured trial that gives you ample time to evaluate the app, all purchases are final and we do not generally provide refunds once a license has been purchased.
There are two exceptions:
- Where the law requires it. We always honor refund or cancellation rights that apply to you under mandatory consumer protection law (see “Your statutory rights” below).
- Genuine technical problems. If you hit a technical issue that prevents you from using the app and we can’t resolve it for you, contact us — we’ll look at it on a case-by-case basis and do the right thing.
How to request a refund
If you believe you qualify under one of the exceptions above, email support@tonecaliper.com from the address you used to buy, and include:
- your order or receipt number, and
- a short description of the problem.
Refunds, when issued, go to your original payment method via our payment provider (see below). It can take a few business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer. When a refund is issued, your License is deactivated and you must stop using the paid version of the app.
Processed by our payment provider
Purchases are sold and processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), acting as our Merchant of Record (the seller of record for your purchase). Any refund is issued through Polar, back to your original payment method. We authorize the refund; Polar carries it out. Polar’s own terms also apply to the payment, and it may handle chargebacks and disputes according to its policies.
Your statutory rights
This policy is in addition to — and does not limit — any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country.
- EU / EEA / UK consumers: You may have a statutory right of withdrawal for digital purchases. Because Tone Caliper is downloadable software supplied immediately, by purchasing and beginning download or use you may be asked to acknowledge that supply begins right away, which can affect that withdrawal right. Where the law gives you a withdrawal right that applies, we honor it.
- Other jurisdictions: Where local law grants you refund or cancellation rights that exceed this policy, those rights apply.
Nothing in this policy is intended to override rights you cannot waive.
Questions
If you’re unsure whether your situation qualifies, just ask — we’d rather sort it out than leave you stuck with software you can’t use.
