Cull a shoot

Each photo can have a flag (picked or rejected), a star rating, and a color label. These are independent, so you can use them separately or together.

Review and mark photos

Select a photo in the Library grid and press Space to open it at full resolution in the loupe. Use ← and → to move to the previous or next photo.

Press the same flag, rating, or label key again to remove that mark.

These shortcuts also work in the grid. When multiple photos are selected, the mark applies to all of them.

Use the on-screen controls

You can also mark photos using the rating bar at the bottom left of the loupe, the controls that appear when you hover over a thumbnail, or Rate and flag in the right-click menu.

The purple label is available on the rating bar and has no keyboard shortcut.

Rejected photos appear dimmed in the grid. Marking a photo as rejected does not hide or delete it.

Filter your selections

Use the filter bar at the top left of the grid to show photos by:

• Flag: picked (P) or rejected (X).
• Rating: a minimum number of stars.
• Color label: one or more selected colors.

Filters work together. For example, selecting P and three stars shows picked photos rated three stars or higher. Selecting several color labels includes photos with any of those labels.

Filters apply within the folder, date, or camera view you're browsing.

When you're ready to edit, select a photo and press Enter. See Make your first color grade.
