Developing RAW files

When you open a RAW file, the RAW tab appears before Color and B&W. Use it to prepare your image, then switch to Color to grade it on the wheel. If the default settings look right, you can start grading right away.

Adjust the RAW settings

1. Choose a profile. Standard is the default. Flat provides a lower-contrast starting point for adjusting the tone yourself.

2. Set white balance. Temperature starts at the value recorded by your camera, shown in kelvin. Adjust it to make the image warmer or cooler, and use Tint to correct a green or magenta cast.

3. Adjust exposure and tone. Use Exposure and Brightness to adjust overall brightness. Use Highlights and Shadows to refine bright and dark areas. These adjustments work with the RAW data before your color grade is applied.

4. Adjust detail. Sharpening and Color noise reduction both default to 50. Adjust them as needed for your photo.

5. Apply lens corrections. Where supported, enable Distortion and Vignetting corrections to correct lens distortion and darkened corners.

Switch between RAW and JPEG

If you shot RAW+JPEG, the Source toggle lets you choose which file to edit. Choose JPEG to use the camera's processed image or RAW to develop the original sensor data.

Your color pins and curves carry over when you switch sources.

Keep your edits

RAW settings are saved with your other edits. Your original file stays unchanged, and you can return to the RAW tab to adjust the settings at any time.
